David John Poynton was born in Norwich on 16 June 1936 and died on 14 November 2024. He was an actor and businessman. He was married twice. In his first marriage to Janet he had a son, Tony Poynton. Married to Mary in his second marriage, he lived in Narborough, near Swaffham until his death.

In August 2019 I had the opportunity to meet David Poynton in Swaffham, England. This time we had lunch at a pub and visited the pop-up market in the town. We thoroughly enjoyed eating and shopping at the pop-up market with David, Maria, Tony and me. That day we recorded some interviews with David talking about his theatre days when he was younger.

Although he gave me some photographs and other papers about his life hoping to have enough time to write his biography, that day never came until today.

I am Loli Castellón, María’s sister, and I live in Spain. I am a member of the Julio Robles Cultural Association, which wants to honour the memory of David Poynton. David Poynton was Tony’s father and Tony is María’s husband.
