| Call for Latin American Leaders | |
The Global Leaders Institute and the Bolívar Davivienda Foundation, through the Youth Philharmonic of Colombia, have decided to join forces to launch “Líderes Emprendedores,” a training program for world-class leaders in the cultural sector. For the first time in Latin America, a version of the Global Leaders Institute certificate program will be taught in Spanish and primarily focused on the Latin American context. This is a commitment by both organizations to educate the next generation of entrepreneurial musicians in Latin America and strengthen the entrepreneurship skills of essential cultural managers on the continent. | | Fellow News | | Priti Gandhi (United States | GLI 2024) recently joined the artistic department of the Metropolitan Opera as Associate Director of the Laffont Competition. Imagine bringing a complete business plan to life on a single page… Meet the Business Model Canvas (BMC). Created by Alexander Osterwalder, Yves Pigneur, and Alan Smith, the Business Model Canvas is a lean visual alternative to the lengthy business plan. BMCs have turned conventional wisdom about entrepreneurship on its head, offering entrepreneurs a simple snapshot of their businesses that puts the focus on value creation for clients and communities. Inspired by tech industry start-ups, the BMC visualization emulates the ethic of failing fast and continually learning. In an industry landscape where disruptive innovation lies around every corner, businesses can use the BMC as a strategic tool to anticipate and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. | | Connecting the Dots | | The Angel Band Project is a non-profit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri (US), which sponsors music therapy programming for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence as part of their healing process. This initiative is co-founded and directed by Rachel Ebeling (United States | GLI 2023) with whom the GLI is thrilled to welcome back as a mentor to 2024 Fellows. |
